About Tasks
Task WebAides are available only to users who have an
Enterprise WebAide license. Task functionality is modeled after that in
Outlook and can contain very detailed information about your tasks.
Tasks are designed to be synchronizable with programs such as Outlook,
that support import and export of calendars via CSV files.

Some Task Features
- Detailed: Keep track of many different types of
information for each task such as notes, due date, completeness, priority,
etc.
- Compatible: Compatible with many programs. Task
WebAides are pre-configured to make synchronization with Outlook and
other programs a snap.
- Easy Filtering: Easily filter your tasks to hide
completed tasks or tasks that are due tomorrow or later.
- Import/Export: Import or Export your tasks using
CSV files. Our Import Wizard makes it easy to import from any
source that can produce data stored in CSV files.
- Outlook Synchronization:** LuxSci provides a special
"WebAideSynch" plugin for Outlook versions 2002 and higher that allows
you to import, export, and synchronize your Outlook Tasks with
your personal or shared LuxSci Task Lists at the touch of a button.
- Shared: Share your tasks with other members of
your group. It is easy to have a single or multiple corporate task lists
shared with some or all employees.
- Reminders: Supports emailed reminders to one or
more addresses. You can configure when these reminders are sent.
- Recurrence: Supports extensive daily, weekly,
monthly, and yearly recurrence patterns.
- Assignment: Assign tasks to specific users and/or
groups of people, or create private tasks that only you can see.
- Multiple Tasks WebAides: Users can have multiple
Tasks WebAides and subscribe to a subset of these for easy viewing and
usage.
- Consolidated Views: View the contents of multiple
Tasks WebAides at once using special "consolidated views". These allow
you to easily see what is "needs to be done" across all task lists that
you are interested in.
- Notes: Store arbitrary comments about your events
using the "Notes" field.
- Attach Files:** You can attach any number of
files to your task entries.
- Tags: You can tag your entries with any number of labels to aid in sorting, searching, and categorization. The same tag system is used
across all WebAides and in WebMail for your email messages.
- Search: You can extensively search tasks.
- Access Control:** Only people with a login to Lux
Scientiae's web site can possibly access your WebAide (it is not public).
You can specify exactly who has permission to view, add entries, edit
entries, make comments, and administer your WebAide. You can specify this
on a per user, per user group, and/or per account basis. You can share
your WebAide with other members of your account and/or members of other
accounts -- you decide.
- Additional Privacy: In addition to our access
controls which allow you to specify exactly who can see your information,
LuxSci has a very strict privacy policy - our technical support
staff will never access your WebAide data without your prior consent.
- Date Tracking: Tracks created and modified dates
for all entries.
- API:** Access task information via our
User API. This allows you to
write custom programs that import, export, and synchronize
task data with your LuxSci WebAide Tasks.
